FATIMA JUBILEE PRAYER SERVICE

Pope Francis has declared that a Fatima Jubilee Plenary

Indulgence can be obtained this year on the 13th of each month from May to October for the 100th  Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Blessed Mother to the three little shepherd

children,  Saint Jacinta and Saint Francisco Marto ( who were canonized this year) and Lucia dos Santos (who died much

later.) To gain this indulgence you can visit a church with a statue of Our Lady of Fatima exposed for public veneration and

participate in a celebration or prayer in honor of Our Lady of Fatima.  Then you must go to confession and receive Eucharistic Communion within 20 days before or after the indulgence is sought. We will hold a Fatima Jubilee Prayer Service on Wednesday,  September 13th at 5:00 o'clock in the Historic Church followed by dinner at Habachi Grill on East Main Street for those who want to go.  We invite the parish to join us; this event is being sponsored by the Saint Michael the Archangel Fraternity of the Secular Franciscans.  We hope you will join us.

It is important for us to know when children are approaching the age for Sacraments so that we can predict class sizes etc.  All children receiving Sacraments at Saint Paul must attend classes to prepare for that Sacrament here at Saint Paul.

RCIA

How does one become a member of the Catholic Church?

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a program by which the Catholic Church welcomes new members into its communal life. The RCIA program is a living experience of the church, and not just a series of classes to teach you about Christianity. These are lessons in the facts of the faith. These lessons are only one part of the experience of living the faith. This program allows you to learn and share with others who are on the same journey, living the faith with members of the Church. This conversion process, through prayerful discernment, will culminate in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist), or in the case of a Baptized Christian, (Profession of Faith, Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation) or for adult Catholics seeking to complete their Initiation (Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation) Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic Church is welcome. The RCIA here at St. Paul will begin meeting on Monday night, September 11 at 7pm in the Conference Room of the Parish Center. For more information, you may call the Religious Education Office at 585-1858. If you or your spouse have been married and divorced prior to your current marriage, please contact Deacon Bob Mahaffey for an appointment to discuss the annulment procedure.  Sponsors for our Candidates are always needed. Sponsors accompany candidates and catechumens through the process. By Church law, Sponsors need to be fully initiated themselves, at least 16 years of age, and must be a registered and active parishioner. If you are interested please call the RE office 585-1858.
