172 ALABAMA ST.

Through the generosity of a member of the parish, the house with green siding at 172 Alabama (the Twitchell House, built in 1899) will soon be available for parish groups to use for meetings,

gatherings and other functions.  There are three medium size rooms, one small room and a storage unit on the first floor and four medium size rooms and a storage unit on the second floor.  There are three bathrooms but there is no kitchen.  Cooking will NOT be available in this facility and there will be NO refrigerator.  All food items must be brought in and all trash must be removed when the meetings are finished.  A committee of parish members are currently looking at possible groups who might be accommodated in the house.  All groups are asked to make sure you contact Denise Cuneo at 814-4867 to

update their group/club information.  The house will be exterminated and professionally cleaned before anyone can use the house.

RESPECT LIFE

COMMITTEE NOTES

The final Corporal Work of Mercy is burying the dead.  By properly and respectfully laying the

SAFE ENVIRONMENTS

In order to provide the safest environment possible for the children of our Parish and our Community, we have asked everyone that works with or around children in our Parish to go through Safe Environment training.  Beginning in 2004, the Diocese of Charleston has required that training to be VIRTUS. This was a three hour class along with online bulletins. We have now switched to Safe Haven, an online training that can be done in your home. When it is completed, please print out a certificate and bring it to the Church Office. We are asking anyone that took VIRTUS before 2012 to take the Safe Haven course as soon as possible to update our records. Later this year we will ask for the rest of our volunteers to take the course as well. If you have any questions please email Norma Stokes at normastokes@stpaultheapostlespartanburg.org.  See the information listed below.
